The Book Fair in Belém is an initiative of the President of the Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, held annually since 2016, in the Gardens of the Belém Palace, in partnership with the Portuguese Publishers and Booksellers Association (APEL).
For 4 days, dozens of exhibitors from publishers and booksellers are present in the palace gardens, which are open to the public, and several book presentations, autograph sessions and conferences are also organized.
In parallel, there is a cultural programme that has previously presented music, dance, drama, cinema, and poetry.
